Enameling

The enamels I make are the high-fired, vitreous type which are made by fusing glass to the metal. The basic process has been in use for at least 3300 years.

There are modern substitutes using various plastics, some of them baked on. I don't use these. Of course, there are also paints that are referred to as enamels, simply because they are often shiny, like vitreous enamel.
